📝 Understanding the Blanks on the Word Building Test

Writer: Clayton CarlsonClayton Carlson

If you’re using the Word Building books, you might have noticed something a little confusing: the test section in the middle of the book has blank spaces. 🤔

Many students turn in their tests without completing these blanks, simply because they aren’t sure what they’re for. If that’s you, don’t worry—you’re not alone! Let’s break it down.

❓ What Are the Blanks For?

The blanks in the test section are there for your spelling words. 🏆 When it’s time for your test, you will need to fill in each blank by correctly spelling the words you’ve been learning throughout the book.

📖 Where do you find the spelling words?

Your spelling words are listed on the very first page of your Word Building book.

✅ How to Take the Test Properly

When you’re ready to take your test, follow these steps:

1️⃣ Find someone to read your spelling words to you. This could be a parent, teacher, or even a friend. 👩‍🏫

2️⃣ Carefully remove the test section from the middle of your workbook. 📄

3️⃣ Have the person read each word aloud, one at a time. 🎙️

4️⃣ Write the correct spelling for each word in the blank spaces. ✏️

❗ Avoid This Common Mistake!

🚨 DO NOT turn in your test with the blanks left empty! 🚨

If you don’t write in the spelling words, your test is not complete and will be required to take the workbook back and complete it.

🏆 Final Tips for Success

Practice your spelling words ahead of time so you feel confident on test day.

Write neatly and clearly so your answers can be easily graded.

Follow the steps above every time you take a Word Building test to avoid mistakes.

Now that you understand how the Word Building books work, you’ll be ready to ace your next Word Building test! 🎉
